Food for thought.....or thinking of food?

Nothing profound. Nothing philisophical. Just food. Lots and lots of food.

Shifting

I'll be shifting office space soon, most likely at the start of May. Not moving out of the building but just across the corridor from my current office location. My boss had expanded the office space to the area across the corridor and some of my colleagues and I will have to move over.

The corridor is but 3 metres wide. The opaque glass walls (opaque because something was stuck onto them to make them look like frosted glass) are barely sound-proof. And yet all of us, people who are moving and otherwise, can already anticipate the feeling of 'separation'.

My company isn't a big one, with a total strength about 40, and that's what makes the people bond together. This bond will gradually change when we shift to the space that can't even be described as "far away". It's surprising how physical barriers make all the difference - people are not inclined to overstep them and interaction will reduce greatly as a result.

I believe I'm not mistaken by saying this on behalf of my colleagues: we miss one another already.
