“死人”脸

I swapped handphone batteries back with my brother last night, because he had to go out the day before and his battery was almost flat. Normally, the date and time settings of the phone would not be affected if the battery leaves its compartment for only a few seconds. If it was affected at all, the date and time would be reset and nothing would appear.

After replacing my own battery, I noted that the time and date was showing and didn't pay further attention to it. While the date remained the same, the time on my phone actually jumped forward during the transition.

When the alarm sounded, I switched it off and dozed for another half an hour, before getting up to rush through the morning routine. Halfway through the rush, I noticed, despite my half-dazed state, that the sky was unusually dark. Normally, dawn would be breaking while I washed up.

A close look at my wall clock made me realised I was


1 WHOLE HOUR EARLY,



and if I didn't delay my going out for work, the

OFFICE WOULD NOT YET BE OPEN.
