Food for thought.....or thinking of food?

Nothing profound. Nothing philisophical. Just food. Lots and lots of food.

Lelong lelong

I attended this annual CAD/CAM/CAE conference last Friday, where we were exposed to the new versions of the computer aided engineering softwares.

Each year, they held this little competition which requires one to draw a 3D model in SolidWorks within a stipulated time, and a prize would be awarded to the person that took the least time to draw, or the one who has the closest model.

These 3D models are shown on a technical drawing, and they're usually simple. However, 20 minutes can be a little tight for someone who hasn't seen the model beforehand and not quite an expert drawing 3D from 2D.

Anyway, I entered the competition for fun, because I've always wanted to challenge myself to be an engineer with good visualisation and drawing skills.

...And guess what? I won the prize! Must have been because the competition was poor.

It's a rather recent model of a HP monitor. I already have a brand new monitor (bought only a week ago), so I don't think I'll use my prize.

Anyone interested in getting a new monitor?
