NDP 2007 spoiler

I was at the Esplanade this afternoon, and I came across this set up. This year's NDP sure is different. It should be the first time that boats are used as part of the display.






They have a lot of big balloons this year. The one on the extreme left reminds me of an Easter Egg. Not sure of their purpose apart from aesthetics, but maybe they help to keep the platform afloat - a nicely disguised safety feature.






I saw the Police Coast Guards doing their dry runs around the bay. It looks like their making turns at relatively high speed, nothing really spectacular. What was I expecting? Stunts a la Jackie Chan.






The people who helps to keep our city safe and sound. Much of the area around the Esplanade has been cordoned off for the National Day Parade. It's be very crowded at night when people flock over to watch the previews (from the barriers), but I won't be around to find out.
