Food for thought.....or thinking of food?

Nothing profound. Nothing philisophical. Just food. Lots and lots of food.

Movie Marathon

After not having stepped into a theatre for quite a while, the sudden massive influx of invitations to watch movies came as a rather pleasant surprise. Watching 3 movies in a week may sound quite tiring, but it beats staying at home with my mind wandering to regions where it should not.

War of the Worlds
It is safe to assume that movies directed by Steven Spielburg has some level of standard. The movie was adapted from a novel, but the result of condensing a few hundred pages of words into a 2 hour show is always a disappointment.

The moral of the story: don't read too many novels, or try to forget what you've read before watching the adapted version.

Initial D
I watched this movie more for finding out Jay's acting skills than anything else. As above, I can't compare a movie to a book, let alone a series of comics or animae. The good thing is, I haven't read the comic nor watched the animae.

I think Jay's acting skills came from all the MTVs he produced. Not bad. Pity I still don't know what 飘移 means.

Batman Begins
Personally, I found this to be the best of the 3 movies I've watched this week. Perhaps it's because I had very low expectations for this show. And I had the luck to share the theatre with a Batman fan, who clapped and cheered everytime Batman did something chivalrous.

The Batman fan was no kid. At least an adolescent. I have to credit him for creating in-house entertainment and atmosphere.

it aint easy to forget the novel "War of the World". I'll never forget how disappointed I was, when I got to the last chapter. I guess for tat show, half of ppl were like "duh watz going on" or wanna throw popcorn at the screen at the end of the show.
Tatz why I'm not watching it & spreading the word to others, to not watch it unless u got really nothing else better to do.

I agree that the ending to "War of the Worlds" is quite far from anything spectacular. Just when I was trying to guess how the humans would finally win the war, the book said (or implied) that the humans had never won.

Oh well.
