My wandering mind.....
During a recent trip to one of the LAN shops in Ginza Plaza, I chanced upon a new game Half-life 2. Half-life was the first person shooter (FPS) game from which Counter-strike was evolved. The 2nd version of Half-life should imply much better graphics, additional features in the game plus a storyline (there wasn't much of a storyline for Half-life, just 1 long and tough battle).
Some of my friends don't play FPS games because they have motion sickness - the rapid change in the view shown on the monitor resembles rapid movements, thereby inducing nausea. Speaking of which reminds me of the 1st time I suffered from motion sickness.

My dad brought the whole family to Superstar Leo on a cruise (to some part of Malaysia, but I can't remember where it was anymore) during one of my school holidays on June. As a kid, I was naturally very excited at the thought of having my 1st journey on a ship.
Day 1 was pretty fine. I spent the afternoon happily exploring the upper decks of the ship where all the entertainment (and restaurants) were.

There was a suggested itinerary in every cabin stating the programmes and meal hours for the 3 days 2 nights cruise. So there I was, making sure I never missed out on a single meal. They provided the standard 3 meals and 2 additional teas, 1 in the morning and another afternoon.
The price to pay for greed came in the late afternoon. I started to feel nauseous, so my dad made me lie down on 1 of the beds in our cabin. Suddenly I feel that my brain was like a buoy, trapped and bobbing around inside my skull as though it was half filled with swirling, turbulent water. Every now and then, my brain will knock against the side of my skull (it really felt that way) and the headache will get worse.
And thus, I was 'grounded' for half a day on a 3D2N cruise, with 1 day already wasted on the late check in and early check out. To make things worse, I had difficulty sleeping at night because the bobbing brain syndrome came every time I lay down on bed. I spent the 2nd day in a semi-dazed state wandering around the ship, feeling upset with myself for being so weak.
Somehow, I managed to sleep well on the 2nd night and seemed to have recovered completely from my motion sickness on the 3rd morning (I judged that from the return of my healthy appetite during breakfast). By that time, the cruise was nearing its end. Quite a disappointment for me.
At least I'm glad to know that since then, motion sickness has not been a problem for me.
